Demolir os muros da fábrica de ensinar

Abstract

After discussing “school culture” and the need of an educational paradigm-shift, this paper discusses the contradiction between the aim of educating innovative teachers in using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the attempt of doing that under the influence of the centennial school culture embedded in the school’s walls and routines, quoting Seymour Papert as a major detractor of the industrial school. Finally, it is explored the possibility of bypassing that contradiction, provided teacher educators are aware of its existence and have a constructivist approach while educating their trainees, according the Gaston Mialaret’s idea of isomorphism.

Keywords: school culture, isomorphism, constructivism, pedagogical innovation.
